Royal Mail Strike 2022

Royal Mail Strike 2022

Updated 1st December 2022

It has been announced recently that Royal Mail workers, members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) plan to take strike action

Those striking will include Royal Mail staff who collect, sort and deliver parcels, so likely to cause major disruption to the postal network on those days, and for days following due to back logs.

Royal Mail say they have contingency plans although will not be able to replace the daily efforts of its frontline workforce.

When are Royal Mail on strike?

As well as strike action already taken, further strike action is planned for 1st, 9th, 11th, 14th and 15th December 2022

Why is Royal Mail striking?

Like lots of other industrial action taking place around various industries at present, this Royal Mail strike is ultimately down to pay. The CWU have said this strike so far is to demand a "dignified, proper pay rise"
