Online Shopping During Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Here at iBeani HQ, home of the Award-winning tablet cushion and lifestyle tech accessories, we are monitoring developments closely with regards to ongoing government and industry advice in relation to Coronavirus, as a whole, but of course, how this affects or may affect what we do day to day as a business. We are currently open and operating as usual.

Public Health England (PHE) has advised that people receiving parcels are not at risk of contracting the Coronavirus (COVID-19); these types of viruses don't survive long on objects, such as parcels. This compliments the publicised guidance from PHE for people to wash their hands more often than usual using soap or antibacterial hand-wash and hot water.

As a small UK business with owner-directors at the helm, we have always preached a 'health & family first' policy. The health and safety of our staff is of upmost importance to us. Any members of staff that need to be at home with their families at such unprecedented times, isn't a problem to us and we encourage it. Anyone showing signs of Coronavirus or other virus, common or not, are told to follow the guidance and self isolate. Where staff can work from home, they are doing.

At this moment in time, we are still operational and dealing with orders as normal, both for direct consumers and our retail customers around the country. We have contingencies in place with regards to our stock, and have it stored in multiple locations, available for dispatch. Providing our couriers remain operational, which they currently are, there should be no drop in the excellent service you usually receive from iBeani. Although we do ask our customers for a little patience with  parcel deliveries as our couriers may face slight delays in delivering items, as this rapidly evolving situation continues.

Royal Mail, one of our main couriers have announced measures they are taking when delivering letters and parcels. A summary of those measures is below, otherwise click here to see the full update:

  • Postman and woman will not hand over devices for customers to sign for deliveries. Instead they will log the name of the person accepting the item.
  • For all customers, including those that are self-isolating, where a parcel will not fit through the door, the item will be placed on the door step. Having knocked on the door royal mail staff will the step aside while you retrieve your item, ensuring you get it as oppose to just leaving it outside.
  • If you are unable to get to the door, a 'something for you' card will be left, advising of other ways you can arrange delivery of your item.

Online shopping, whilst it doesn't necessarily help the high street, is a great way to get by at such times, and gives you the ability to still ensure loved ones and friends receive parcels for mothers day gifts, birthday gifts etc. iBeani tablet cushions and other tech accessories we stock make great gifts for all occasions and actually makes a great lifestyle accessory for tablet users and book readers, especially if those things will be increasingly used as we stop at home more over coming weeks.

If you or anyone you know will be spending a little more time catching up on netflix (or other similar platform) or a favorite novel, then do it in comfort with iBeani: The tablet holder and iPad stand of choice for hundreds of thousands of people.

Our thoughts are with you and your families and we wish anyone affected, a speedy recovery.

We also have to hope that other businesses are not affected too much by this pandemic and our thoughts are with our retail partners and suppliers around the world.
