As you might already be aware, we will be exhibiting at this year’s Gadget Show Live event at the NEC in Birmingham. The event runs from Thursday March 31st until Sunday April 3rd – 4 days of action packed gadgety goodness!

Getting To The Gadget Show Live 2016

The Gadget Show Live is held at the NEC in Birmingham, close to Birmingham International Airport. There are two mains ways of travel to get to the event:

Car:

Thinking of Driving to Gadget Show Live? You’ll need to come off the M42 at Junction 6 and follow the signs for The National Exhibition Centre. If driving then there are plenty of car parks to choose from. The following options are available to you:

  • Express Parking – Pre book your parking and get a designated space close to the exhibition halls and avoid any queues at payment kiosks. Prices for express parking are £20 per day.
  • Pre-Paid Parking – Pre book to park in the standard or disabled public car parks. Standard car parks are a little further away than express parking, but there is a regular shuttle bus that takes you right to the doors of the exhibition centre. Price is £12 per day.
  • Standard Parking – The same as pre-paid parking, except you’ll have to pay at the kiosk once you’re there (so there may be a queue!). Price is £12 per day.
  • Motorbike Parking – Motorbikes are free to park in standard car parks, or £20 per day in Express Parking.

Train:

Getting the train to Gadget Show Live? If so then you’ll want to make sure you get off at Birmingham International Station (this is also the train station for the airport). From there you can easily walk to the NEC or catch a regular bus if you prefer. Virgin Trains run a regular direct service to Birmingham International from the following stations:

  • London Euston
  • Milton Keynes Central
  • Manchester Piccadilly
  • Preston
  • Lancaster
  • Glasgow

Other direct train services are also available. If travelling by train be sure to book your ticket well in advance to get the best possible price! If you are using a Virgin Trains service then click here to claim a 25% discount on travel to any NEC event.

 

What’s On At The Gadget Show Live 2016?

 

If you’re coming to visit then you’re probably going to wonder what the main attractions are! Well wonder no more – we’ve covered all the main highlights of The Gadget Show 2016 below for you.

The Gadget Show Live is split up in to five different exhibits/sections:

Super Theatre:

The Super Theatre is where most of the action happens. It features an hour long show overflowing with the latest in technology and gadgets, all presented by the presenters of the TV show. There’s also the chance to win some of the latest tech goodies, so be sure to drop by! There is also a special guest appearance by Jamie Raven, Britain’s Got Talent’s legendary magician.

 

Better Life:

The goal of the better life exhibit is to highlight new technologies that make your life better. Home cinema technology, virtual reality, home automation – it’s all here!

 

Power Up:

The Power Up section is all about technology on the move. Drones, cars, wearables, fitness tech and more. If you love your gadgets to go then this is the section for you. This is also where we will be situated at stand H130 – so come and visit!

 

The Lab:

The Lab is all about concepts and innovation. See exciting new tech from companies and universities across the world, as well as advice and education on the technologies of tomorrow. A must visit for Sci-Fi lovers!

 

The Arcade:

The Arcade features the latest and greatest in video games. Immerse yourself in all things gaming, with new releases, competitions and guest appearances from gaming industry giants The Yogscast. If you’re a gamer then you simply can’t miss The Arcade!

 

Gadget Show Opening Times

It’s always useful to know when the event starts and ends so you don’t get stuck outside! The opening times for The Gadget Show Live are as follows:

Thursday 31st March: 11:00 – 18:00

Friday 1st April: 09:00 – 18:00

Saturday 2nd April: 09:00 – 18:00

Sunday 3rd April: 09:00 – 18:00
